Market Decoded ("we," "us," or "our"), a Quietly Smart pursuit, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit this site or use the Market Decoded course at course.quietlysmart.org, how we use it, and your choices. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.
I.Information We Collect
Account & Authentication
When you create an account or sign in to the course, we use Clerk for authentication. Clerk collects and stores your:
- Email address
- Name (if provided)
- Account creation date and session data
Clerk's privacy policy governs how your authentication data is handled. We do not store passwords — Clerk manages authentication securely on our behalf.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. Stripe collects:
- Payment card information (stored and processed by Stripe)
- Billing name and email
- Transaction records
Stripe's privacy policy governs how payment data is handled. We receive confirmation that a payment was successful and the email address used — nothing more.
Email Subscriptions
If you sign up for our email list on the marketing site, your email address is stored in Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our email marketing platform. Kit manages list subscriptions and sends our newsletters.
Site Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics through Cloudflare, which collects aggregate, non-personal data: country-level location, device type, pages visited, and referring site. No cookies are used for analytics. We do not track individual users across sessions.
II.How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and grant access to course content you have purchased
- To process your payment and maintain your purchase record
- To send course-related emails (account confirmation, access details)
- To send marketing emails if you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- To respond to support inquiries
- To improve our content and site experience
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
III.Email Marketing & Unsubscribing
If you have subscribed to our email list via Kit, you will receive newsletters and updates related to Market Decoded. Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it will remove you from our list. You can also unsubscribe by emailing us directly at ipe@indiempire.com.
Transactional emails related to your course account (access confirmation, password reset) are not marketing emails and cannot be unsubscribed from while your account is active.
IV.Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:
- Clerk — user authentication and account management
- Stripe — payment processing
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — email marketing
- Cloudflare — site hosting and privacy-respecting analytics
- YouTube — video content linked from the marketing site (governed by Google's privacy policy)
V.Cookies
The marketing site does not use tracking cookies. The course app (course.quietlysmart.org) uses session cookies required by Clerk for authentication. These are functional cookies, not advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking is performed.
VI.Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Authentication is handled by Clerk (SOC 2 compliant) and payments by Stripe (PCI DSS compliant). We do not store sensitive data on our own servers beyond what is necessary to operate the service.
VII.Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
- Request account deletion by contacting us directly

VIII.Children's Privacy
This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
IX.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes. Significant updates will be communicated via email to active course members.
